Male breast reduction is the fastest growing cosmetic surgery in the U.K.  More and more men are turning to cosmetic surgery to get rid of ‘man boobs’. According to a report by the bbc, women aren’t the only ones unhappy with too-large breasts. For the second year in a row, male breast reduction surgery was the fastest growing segment of the cosmetic surgery industry.

The number of breast reductions in England went from 323 in 2008 to 581 last year, which is an 80% increase, according to the British Association of Aesthetic Surgeons. Among cosmetic surgery procedures for men in the U.S., breast reduction ranks fourth, after nose jobs, eyelid surgery and liposuction.

In England, it is believed that the pressure on males to have their breasts surgically reduced comes from men’s magazines. However, as men’s boob sizes go up and down as they gain or lose weight, just as women’s do, simply changing your lifestyle may mean you wouldn’t need to seek surgery and the risks that go along with it.
